An event born of river enthusiasts

3 days for river lovers and paddle sports enthusiasts. The festival is based at the New Rabioux campsite in Châteauroux-les-Alpes. The festival was set up thanks to the desire to share their passion of several certified white-water guides and service providers on the Durance. The Durance, an essential river for whitewater sports, is waiting for you to follow its course and enjoy the refreshing sensations. Glide and photograph your emotions along this open valley surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful scenery.

While we await the 2024 program, let's take a look back at the 2023 edition:

The 2023 edition of the Durance Festivalis enriched by new activities. There's something to suit everyone's taste. This year's program includes :

  • a packraft event on the lower guil in the form of a mini-raid
  • the traditional "Guil Chrono " a race on the combe of Château-Queyras
  • the Grande Descente, a rafting festival for the general public and occasional rafters and regular kayakers

10h - Guil Gorge Chrono free training (unsecured)
10am - Start of Clinics (Girls' Special, Packraft, Safety)
17h - Opening of registration confirmation / Registration (Guil Chrono, Sup Challenge, Packraft Challenge, Grande Descente)
18h - Welcome drink
21h - Cinéma Plein Air

Saturday, July 15th

8am - Confirmation of registrations / On-site registrations
11am - Sup Masters Long Race : a race starting in line from St Clément up to and including the Rabioux (finish on the right bank downstream from the Rabioux).
12pm - Gorge Guil Chrono: Briefing at noon,1st start at 1pm
2 p.m. - Start of Bas Guil Rally : a descent of the Bas Guil (Cl.2/3) open to all boats; the Bas Guil Rally is a group descent of the Bas Guil from the Simoust bridge to the base of St Clément (possibility of continuing to the Rabioux campsite: unsupervised). Ideal for intermediate paddlers!
5pm - Sup Sprint Races on the Rabioux (2nd round of the Sup Master)
5pm - Opening of the official refreshment bar with the Batucada d'Embrun
7pm - Catering opening
8pm - Guil Gorge Chrono, Sup Masters and Canoe Rally prize-giving ceremony
8:30pm - Concerts
Ends around midnight

Sunday, July 16

10 a.m. - Departure of the shuttle bus from the campsite to the start of the Grande Descente in St Clément
12pm - Start of the Grande Descente (St Clément - Le Rabioux - Embrun)
1pm - Rabioux Freestyle Showdown :a freestyle free session and big trick contest on the Rabioux wave. Kayak, Raft, Canoe, Sup.
2pm - Grill Party on the banks of the Rabioux
